Community Involvement, Earth Day Cleanups, and Growing Our Roots in Central New York

Recently recognized as a 2026 Business of the Year for Community Involvement by CenterState CEO, we remain focused on building real relationships, partnering with local organizations, and showing up consistently for the communities we call home.

We have always believed that being part of a community means showing up for it consistently. Our recent recognition as a 2026 Business of the Year for Community Involvement by CenterState CEO reflects something that has mattered to us for a long time: building real relationships, supporting local organizations, and staying connected to the people and neighborhoods that make Central New York home.

Over the past year, we had the opportunity to support nonprofits across the region, volunteer alongside local partners, and take part in projects close to our new home in Syracuse’s Inner Harbor. We’re grateful for this recognition and focused on continuing to support our community whenever we can.

What This Recognition Means to Us

This April, we were honored to be named a 2026 Business of the Year for Community Involvement by CenterState CEO.

For us, the recognition reflects years of building relationships throughout Central New York and staying engaged with the organizations doing meaningful work every day. In 2025, we supported more than 25 nonprofit organizations across the region, including the Food Bank of Central New York, David’s Refuge, Vera House, United Way, Catholic Charities, McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center, the American Heart Association, Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Rescue Mission, Francis House, and many others. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their efforts and know they are the ones leading the work in our community.

We also supported fundraising efforts for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in November 2025, with our Chief Executive Officer, Susan Crossett, serving as chair of the event. Our team was honored to walk together for the millions of people affected by Alzheimer’s worldwide.

Caring for the Inner Harbor on Earth Day

On April 26, 2026, Sapphire Recruitment coordinated an Earth Day cleanup for the team to spend time cleaning up Syracuse’s Inner Harbor.

Throughout the afternoon, employees worked together to collect trash and clean spaces around the waterfront. There was plenty of conversation and laughter, and there was also a shared sense of responsibility. Everyone took the effort seriously and wanted to leave the area better than they found it.

After our recent move to the Inner Harbor, spending Earth Day caring for the neighborhood felt especially fitting. It was a simple, practical way to contribute to a place we see every day from the office windows and sidewalks.

Building Stronger Connections in Syracuse

Our move to the Inner Harbor in 2025 opened up new ways for us to connect with Syracuse in a closer, more personal way.

Being part of the neighborhood means paying attention to the momentum and growth happening around us and finding thoughtful ways to be involved. Sometimes that looks like nonprofit partnerships or fundraising initiatives. Other times, it is volunteer efforts, local events, or projects like the Earth Day cleanup along the water.

No matter what form it takes, the focus stays the same: to be a considerate neighbor and an engaged community partner.

Looking Ahead Together

As we reflect on the past year, one thing feels clear. Community involvement is not a separate program for us. It is simply part of how we try to approach our work and relationships every day.

That mindset shows up in recognitions like the CenterState CEO Business of the Year for Community Involvement award, and it also shows up in the everyday choices our team makes to support neighbors and local organizations. We feel fortunate to be part of a region filled with people and nonprofits working every day to make Central New York stronger.

Looking ahead, we will continue that work alongside our partners, investing in the communities we are proud to call home and creating more ways to contribute in the years ahead.
